Las Lomas strives to be an inclusive and supportive community for our students and staff. This ongoing work is fueled by the vision of addressing race and equity through the examination of bias in the public school system. Staff and students engage in dialogue that is framed using Courageous Conversation tools to develop goals that are actionable in addressing and deinstitutionalizing racism on campus and increasing student achievement
Parallel to the district level Diversity Committee, Las Lomas has active student and staff Equiteam committees to examine the culture, curriculum and climate on the campus. These groups have been working at Las Lomas for many years, and for the last year we have focused on developing and implementing a policy to address the use of the N-word, strengthening connections between staff and students, and examining and developing our curriculum to be more culturally responsive.
