Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC)

2026 Award Recipients of the Su Stauffer Friends of Education: AUHSD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee
Purpose: The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee will foster collaboration and support to promote AUHSD special education services, program delivery, parent education, parent engagement, and the high school and transition program experience for our students with learning exceptionalities. Leveraging the diverse perspectives of its members, representative parents, administration, and the Governing Board, the Committee will engage in meaningful dialogue and actions to support an inclusive school environment and the achievement of all students.
The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) fosters collaboration, communication, and support to enrich AUHSD special education services and program delivery. By bringing together diverse perspectives from parent representatives, school administration, and the Governing Board, SEPAC works to promote parent education, deepen family engagement, and elevate the high school and transition experience for students with 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans ("IEP").
To maintain an active dialogue with our community, SEPAC meets every other month. These meetings serve as a collaborative space to gather feedback, share resources, and advance an inclusive, supportive school environment where every student can succeed.
In addition to district-wide advisory work, each AUHSD school site is supported by a dedicated parent volunteer. Working directly on campus, these site representatives offer localized support to families and help plan unique, community-building activities tailored to their individual school sites.
Please note that our site representatives are dedicated parent volunteers—not district employees—who generously give their time to advocate for special needs students and their families. Their direct contact information and the full SEPAC committee roster are provided below.
