New Student Enrollment
New student enrollment is the process for families of new students to enter the school district. Please note that new student enrollment does not apply to resident students who were enrolled in our partner school districts in 8th grade.
Resident students who attended the following school complete the Fall Registration process instead of the new student enrollment:
- Canyon School
- Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School
- Orinda Intermediate School
- Stanley Middle School
- Tice Creek School
- Walnut Creek Intermediate School
New student enrollment starts at the school site.

School sites will provide families with an enrollment packet that includes details and all required paperwork. After completing the intake appointment, student and family will meet with a school counselor to review academic records and schedule courses.
Pick up your student’s class schedule: Class schedules are distributed during the school's walk-through registration on August 11, 2025. Please check the school’s website for exact times. Confirmation of residency verification is needed for participation in the school’s walk-through registration. New students who enroll during the school year will complete this process through their school's Counseling Office.
Required documents needed for enrollment include:
- Residency Verification
- Transcripts from last school attended
- Immunization Records - California schools are required to collect immunization records for all new student admissions, before entry. For more information, visit shotsforschool.org.
Interdistrict Transfer Students
- First complete the Interdistrict Transfer Process
- After receiving AUHSD approval for a 2026-2027 interdistrict transfer, please complete the AUHSD new student enrollment process (see above)

Residency Verification
Residency Verification must be completed by the following groups of students prior to the start of each school year. Residency verification begins on July 27, 2026 and must be completed before walk-through registration day on Aug 10, 2026.
- Students entering grade 9 and grade 10
- Students admitted on an Interdistrict transfer*
- Any student who has moved
*Students attending AUHSD through an interdistrict transfer, should provide their approval letter for the 2026-27 school year as your proof of residency verification.
To establish student(s) residence, the parent/legal guardian must supply a valid photo ID and two (2) types of documentation (ONE from each group below showing name and residence address):
Provide ONE document from the list below:
- Current Rental/Lease Agreement WITH the following:
- Parent/Guardian name(s)
- Manager or owner name & phone number
- Verification of occupancy for the 2026-27 school year
- Does NOT include rented portions of a house or apartment or agreements formulated by relatives.
- Current Property Tax Bill (online copies are NOT accepted)
- Current Homeowner's or Renter's Insurance Policy or Declarations (bills or statements are NOT accepted)
Provide ONE document from the list below:
- Current State or Federal Tax Returns WITH W-2 or 1099 attached
- Current Payroll Check Stub WITH name & address (personal checks are NOT accepted)
- Current dated correspondence from an official government agency not used in Group 1:
- Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, Child Support, Foster Care
- Voter registration or polling information (if recent reg. in CA)
- Jury summons or subpoena
- ANY current document from a federal, state, or county agency (excluding the DMV)
Transfer Students
Please review the three options below and choose the one appropriate transfer type for your student.
For students who reside within AUHSD, but want to attend a different AUHSD school from their home school.
For students who reside outside AUHSD, and want to attend school within AUHSD.
For students who reside within AUHSD and want to attend a public school outside of AUHSD.
Fall Registration (Data Confirmation & Residency Verification)
Fall Registration begins on Monday, July 27, 2026.

The fall registration steps outlined below apply to current AUHSD students and students enrolled in the following schools:
- Canyon School
- Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School
- Orinda Intermediate School
- Stanley Middle School
- Tice Creek School
- Walnut Creek Intermediate School
All students are required to complete the Fall Registration Process from Monday, July 27, 2026 through Friday, August 7, 2026. The Fall Registration Process includes two separate items:
- DATA CONFIRMATION: All students must complete the online Data Confirmation through Aeries.
- RESIDENCY VERIFICATION: All 9th & 10th grade students, must complete Residency Verification at the school site. In addition, 11th &12th grade students who have moved must complete Residency Verification at the school site.
Students NEW to AUHSD (not enrolled in our partner districts):
Students who are new to the district and did NOT attend one of the schools listed on the left in grade 8 must complete the New Student Enrollment process.
Interdistrict Transfer Students
- First complete the Interdistrict Transfer Process
- After receiving AUHSD approval for a 2026-2027 interdistrict transfer, please complete the AUHSD new student enrollment process (see below)
Before your student is issued a class schedule, you must complete both residency verification and data confirmation.
Residency verification and data confirmation begin on July 27, 2026 and must be completed before walk-through registration day on Aug 10, 2026.
Data Confirmation
All Students
Data Confirmation must be completed for all students prior to the start of each school year.
Log into Aeries PASS Parent Portal account (Directions for creating an AUHSD Aeries Account). There are seven steps to complete the process:
Step 1: Family Information
Indicate whether or not at least one parent/guardian of this student is active in the United States Armed Forces.

Step 2: Student
Review and update mailing address for school notifications (report cards, letters, etc). Include student mobile phone number for emergency use.

Step 3: Contacts
When updating contact information, please include:
- Phone and email address
- Whether a contact is a primary contact by selecting Yes or No from the Primary Contact drop-down menu (used primarily for parents)
- Each parent's education level from the Ed Level drop-down menu (See screenshot of "Edit Contact" screen on the right)


Step 4: Documents
Please review the annual parent notifications and advisements. Clicking on the notifications will open a new tab in your browser. Close the tab after review to return to your Aeries PASS Parent Portal account.

Step 5: Authorizations
Please review the statements in each authorization and designate your approval.

Step 6: Requested Documents
There is nothing to do on this page. Select Confirm and Continue.

Step 7: Final Data Confirmation
If you did not visit the webstore, please do so.
