Enhanced Health and Safety Measures (Updated March, 2021)

Acalanes Adult Education have taken enhanced health and safety measures as we look to reopening the campus for in-person learning Fall, 2021.  All students, staff, and community members are to follow all posted instructions while visiting the Del Valle Education Center.  Of note, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in public locations where people are present.

We kindly request all students, staff, and community members adhere to the following guidelines when visiting the Del Valle Education Center and Acalanes Adult Education classes.

Just a few reminders:

  • Face coverings must fully cover your nose and mouth, and be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking while stationary.
  • Clean your hands often and thoroughly.
    • Wash hands for a minimum of 20-seconds.
    • If soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available in the hallways and classrooms.
      • Students, staff, and community members should utilize these stations upon entering buildings and classrooms.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing.
    • Use a tissue when you cough or sneeze and place your used tissue in the wastebasket.
    • If you do not have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow - not your hands.
  • Maintain physical distancing.
    • Temporary adjustments are in place to help promote physical distancing.
      • Please follow directional signage and ground markings, which have been installed throughout the Del Valle Education Center.
      • Physical barriers may have been placed in select locations to help promote appropriate separation between people.
  • Desks will be spaced six (6) feet apart and all will be facing the same direction.
    • Classrooms in the 100-wing will be able to accommodate a maximum of 15 students.
    • The exercise room in the 300-wing will be able to accommodate a maximum of 20 students.
