Voluntary Vaccination Verification - Acalanes Adult Education
Dear Acalanes Adult Education Students,
We look forward to welcoming our students back to in-person learning at Acalanes Adult Education. Our top priorities are the safety of all students and staff, reconnecting our students to their classrooms, peers, teachers and the curriculum, and maintaining access to in-person instruction for all students.
For your information, the AUHSD 2021-2022 Health and Safety Plan was posted on the District’s website the week of August 2, 2021. As you are likely aware, fully vaccinated students are not subject to quarantine if they are asymptomatic and determined to be a contact to a COVID-19 positive individual. Unvaccinated students must enter quarantine or modified quarantine even if asymptomatic. Should a vaccinated student be identified as a contact, they will need to produce proof of vaccination to be exempt from quarantine.
We may have students who develop and test positive for COVID-19, which may lead to members of the school community who are identified as a contact to positive cases of COVID-19. In order to avoid disruption to in-person learning and activities, we encourage our students to submit proof of vaccination proactively.
COVID-19 vaccination is not required for school attendance, at this time. It is also not required to report COVID-19 vaccination status or to provide proof of vaccination. The school is making this voluntary option available to assist in the contact tracing and quarantine exemption process should a student be identified as a contact.
If you wish to voluntarily provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, please complete the form for Acalanes Adult Education. You must complete the form separately for each adult education student. You may voluntarily submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination through the form or bring a copy of proof of vaccination if you wish to not submit electronically.
A Google email account (Gmail) is required to submit documents electronically; however, if you do not have a Google (Gmail) account, you can still input your email address and submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination by visiting the Adult Education office at the Del Valle Education Center.
COVID-19 vaccination of all staff and eligible students is our best strategy to mitigate COVID-19 risk to all. Student vaccination is not a requirement in California public schools at this time, but we encourage all unvaccinated students to seek guidance regarding vaccination from their health care provider. Contra Costa County Health Services provides this page for scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine.
Thank you for your continued support of Acalanes Adult Education and we look forward to a successful 2021 - 2022 school year.
