AP Test Information

 

AP Exam registration will begin Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12:00am and end on Wednesday, March 25, 2019 at 11:59pm.

AP Exams are $110 per exam and must be purchased online through the Webstore during the registration window. Financial aid is available for those who qualify, please see Hannah Welling, Testing Coordinator for details (hwelling@auhsdschools.org or 925-280-3970 ext. 7129). Testing locations will be posted on the Counseling Office Window a week before the exams.

 

Refund Policy:

Refund request received by March 25thbefore 3:30pm - $95 per exam. Refund request received after March 25th- $70 per exam. Refund request received day of exam and beyond – no refund. All refund requests must be made in writing using the AP Refund Request Formavailable in the Counseling Office and returned to the Testing Coordinator. Please allow at least two weeks for refund requests to be processed.

 

Testing Conflicts:

If you would like to take an AP exam not listed on the Web store or if there are two tests you would like to take that are offered at the same time please contact the Testing Coordinator in the Counseling Office. Late administration testing is ONLYallowed if a student decides to take 2 exams scheduled for the same time slot, medical emergencies (doctor note is required) or NCS game conflict (not regular season games).

 

Exam Day Check In:

Check in time for all morning exams is 7:15am. Check in time for all afternoon exams is 12:15pm. It is important to arrive at the check in time to allow for students to be checked in and seated and to complete the pre-administration session before the exam begins. Late students will not be admitted after the doors close – no exceptions. All students must have a photo ID to be admitted (school ID, state ID, driver’s license). Students without an ID will not be admitted – no exceptions.

What to Bring on Exam Day:

  • Photo ID
  • Two #2 Pencils and good erasers
  • Two Legal Black or Legal Blue Pens
  • College Board Approved Calculator - If you are taking an exam that requires one. See College Board for list of approved calculators.
  • AP Student Pack - Students receive their AP Student Pack at their first exam. The AP Student Pack contains the AP Student Number which is assigned to the student for the 2019 school year. This number is the identifying number to receive scores. Students are responsible for the safe keeping of their AP Student Pack for the duration of the exams. It is critical that students record the number and that the AP Student Pack is with them at each exam they take.

What NOT to Bring on Exam Day:

  • Cell phones, smart watches, fitness bands – Cell phones and electronics are not allowed. If a student is suspected of using a cell phone or other electronic device and it sounds they will be dismissed and their scores will be canceled – no exceptions. Putting a cell phone on vibrate is not acceptable.
  • Backpacks, purses, etc. – Bags are not allowed at the students desk. Students should leave bags and personal belongings in their lockers. Students who arrive with bags and belongings will be instructed to place their bags in the front of the testing location and will not have access to them until after the test has ended.
  • Food/drink – Students will not have access to food/drink during the exam. Students are permitted to use the water fountain as needed but their time will not stop. Students are advised to eat a full breakfast/lunch prior to arriving to the exam. Students who are taking an afternoon exam or two exams in one day should pack a lunch as they will not have access to the cafeteria during the normal scheduled lunch time.

Completion of Exams:

Exams are 3.5 to 4.5 hours in length. It is important to remember to factor in the check in time, pre-administration time, breaks, and collection of materials in addition to the exam time before being dismissed. Students who finish before time is called are not allowed to leave the testing room early under any circumstance. Teachers will allow students to arrive to their scheduled exam at the scheduled check in time. Students expected to return to class after their exams and will only excused for the time that they are testing.
