New Student Orientation & Events


Welcome to the Acalanes community!


We are excited to welcome you to the Dons family & can’t wait to kick off the year.  Because the start of the year looks different, we have planned various activities to help connect you to one other, upperclassmen & our campus.


Frosh Orientation-Monday, August 10th

At orientation you can expect to meet upperclassmen, & build relationships with your New Crew leaders & fellow classmates & hear about future opportunities to engage with your New Crew leaders & peers. You have been assigned a time to attend by last name. You will walk through Dons Day, and then attend a short 20 minute orientation with new crew leaders (upperclassmen).

10 AM                    A-C 

10:45 AM               D-G 

11:30 AM                H-L 

1 PM                        M-R 

1:45 PM                   S-Z


Transfer Orientation

At orientation you can expect to meet fellow transfers, meet upperclassmen New Crew leaders, & hear about future opportunities just for our transfer students. You will walk through Dons Day at  11 am followed by a 20 minute orientation. 

We have 3 days of registration planned and are asking that transfer students attend on their respective day at 11 am

August 5th @ 11 am: Dons Day & Transfer Orientation for 12th grade

August 6th @ 11 am: Dons Day & Transfer Orientation for 11th grade

August 7th @ 11 am: Dons Day & Transfer Orientation for 10th grade


Other opportunities:

  • August 9th @ 8 PM: Class of 2024 Zoom & Kahoot. Join the zoom with the following meeting ID & Passcode:

You will be given the kahoot game ID once you are in the zoom meeting!

  • Informational videos about Acalanes, how to get involved, virtual campus tour, and counseling & wellness will be posted beginning August 9th. 
  • August 11th: First Day of School & 5 pm zoom session with new crew leader & new students. Your new crew leader will text you the zoom link. 

  • August 20th: Virtual escape room (must sign up in advance-link will be posted here beginning August 10th)

  • September 1st: Netflix Watch Party

  • Throughout the first 3 weeks of school, we will also be doing a new student webinar series covering how to get involved, time management, academic tips & support amongst others.
