Principal - Mrs. Sara Harris
It is my honor and pleasure to introduce myself as the Principal of Las Lomas High School. I am truly honored to become reacquainted with the community and school that was an integral part of my own life. Having been a graduate of Las Lomas, it is still abundantly clear through the students, staff, and families I have encountered that the tradition and warm presence still exists within its hallways-“Once a Knight, Always a Knight”! I am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff, administration, and parents to provide the best possible educational programs for our students within the Acalanes Union High School District.
I have been in the field of education for over 12 years as a Teacher, Coach, Curriculum Leader, and Associate Principal. During my leadership career, I have learned the importance of core values and building strong relationships in order to establish clear goals and objectives throughout the school site. I have also had the opportunity to create pathways towards a positive school culture and have contributed to the development of programs that meet the needs of all students. I am elated to bring my skills as an instructional leader to Las Lomas and to work with you as a partner to ensure your child’s success.
We will continue our work around curriculum reform, equity, inclusion, and connectedness for all students. Through the various leadership teams at Las Lomas, our entire staff will provide differentiated instruction, interventions, and a level of rigor that promotes efficacy and the ability for our students to be active learners. A team approach is necessary to create and maintain a desired learning environment. It is essential that we maintain this heightened sense of motivation and to ensure that every staff member, student, and parent is excited to learn what is happening on campus. The positive attitude and culture will enable us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a supportive environment.
Associate Principal - Mr. Joshua Frishman
Mr. Frishman joined the administrative team at Las Lomas in the 2021-22 school year. Between the collaborative spirit of our staff and the goal-oriented mindset our students exhibit, Mr. Frishman is honored to be a part of this school. Entering his 15th year in education, Mr. Frishman previously served as an English teacher at Pittsburg High School. In addition, he spent two years as an adjunct professor at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. As an educator, Mr. Frishman always keeps students as a priority. After all, aren't they the reasons we come to work every day? He looks forward to working alongside our wonderful staff in building an environment that promotes equity, integrity, and success!
Associate Principal - Ms. Emily Woodall
Ms. Woodall started as an Associate Principal at Las Lomas in the 2021-22 school year. Prior to joining the administrative team at LLHS, Ms. Woodall was a high school counselor with Antioch Unified. As an educator, Ms. Woodall is committed to equity and inclusion for all students, and supporting the needs of all students as they access their educational opportunities. Emily Woodall works with the intervention teams and counselors to support students' academic progress and alongside all staff to build a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
Associate Principal - Ms. Karen Correia Begg
Ms. Begg began her role as an Associate Principal at Las Lomas in the 2022-2023 school year. She started working in the district in 2019, teaching Spanish at Campolindo and Acalanes High Schools, as well as Human Social Development. Ms. Begg has been in education since 1997 and has taught students in every grade from TK to 12. She is inspired by high school students’ enthusiasm and the dedication and creativity of teachers. Ms. Begg is working to foster an equitable community that honors each member's contributions and recognizes the needs and aspirations of all students, be that going on to trade school, career or college after graduation. Ms. Begg is a proud Las Lomas graduate and is thrilled to have returned as a part of the administrative team.
