Acalanes Union High School District (AUHSD) is committed to preparing our students to excel and contribute in a constantly changing and increasingly digital global society. We believe that our students need to be creative, innovative and confident in their use of technology at school, in their personal life, and in the years after high school. AUHSD staff are committed to the ongoing development of engaging instructional practices that use academically sound, emerging technologies to enhance the classroom experience and student mastery of content. Sound use of technology supports essential skill areas for our students, including complex communication, new media literacy, creativity, and self-directed learning.

    AUHSD Instructional Technology, 1:1 Initiative

Acalanes Union High School District is committed to providing our students with a personalized learning environment to best support each student's individual learning style. To support this goal, AUHSD schools have begun implementing 1:1 program, programs where students are provided with or bring a personal device to use in the classroom. For information related to a specific program at each of our high schools, please visit the school web pages.

    Student Email Information

The District is committed to providing a safe and secure online environment for our students. The following protocols are in place to support a safe and secure network:

    • Restrictions on External Email to AUHSD Student Accounts – Students do not receive email from outside the District unless the email is from an approved organization. Organizations on the approved list include curriculum providers for AUHSD courses, select educational platforms, and educational organizations such as the College Board, the provider of the PSAT, SAT, and Advanced Placement exams.
    • Internal Email Limits – Students may send email to no more than 25 recipients at one time.

Most non-AUHSD email to student accounts is blocked, but students still have the ability to email external addresses. All internal AUHSD email between students and staff, as well as student-to-student email, will continue without interruption. Parents and guardians are still able to email teachers and other school staff directly.

The following are examples of when students should use their AUHSD email account and when they should use a private email account:
