    Need help with a project? Finding that you need more time to finish projects? This open studio time is designed to give you the space and support you need. Work on any project you choose and receive guidance from an experienced instructor and professional artist who will be available to assist you. Prerequisite: Painting experience.

    Beginning Sewing- 9 classes
    Do you want to learn to sew your own clothes? If so, this class is for you! In this course, Guests will learn how to utilize a typical at-home sewing machine, read conventional sewing patterns, and construct articles of clothing. Each Guest will receive support in completing 1 - 2 sewing projects from start to finish. The main garment we will be working on constructing a beginner-friendly jacket. Guests are then encouraged to select a second project of their choice to work through in the remaining weeks of the course. Lab fee of $10.00 - $15.00 is to be paid to the instructor.

    Do you have a friend or family member graduating or promoting to the next level? Come make a Candy Lei to give to and celebrate your graduate. All materials, including chocolate fun-size candy will be provided (may contain nuts).     Copper Relief Sculpture - 6 classes

    Learn the technical aspect/process of tooling light metals. Learn to thoroughly tool the metal including developing raised/embossed and recessed areas and working neatly with this unusual process. Develop aesthetic sensibility in creating a pleasing composition (use of space). Learn finishing techniques including antiquing, polishing, and mounting artwork.

    Discoveries Through Art - Collage and the Haiku Moment - 4 classes

    This course invites your artistic expression to emerge as we explore art collage and haiku, a simple yet profound three-line poetic form of Japanese origin. Through guided visualization, we will enhance your creativity and find joy using mixed-media art techniques in collage. We will also delight in experiencing and expressing haiku moments. Between classes, you are encouraged to explore nature and record your haiku moments in your art journal. All levels are welcome. Note: This course will be taught by Kaleo Ching and Elise Dirlam-Ching.

    Fundamentals of Drawing and Beyond While Having Fun - 4 classes

    This drawing course is designed to increase your visual awareness and attain methods to help create line and the effect of three dimensional drawings while having fun. Drawing is fundamental to most forms of art. We will explore the use of line, value, form, perspective, texture, and proportions throughout various drawing exercises. Guests will have group and individual instruction. Demonstrations and lectures will be given to educating each Guest. We will work from photographs of your choice, as well as occasional still lifes. Many class projects are geared for beginners and intermediate Guests. Advanced and intermediate Guests are welcome to work on their own personal projects to further perfect their skills.     Mosaic Art Workshop - 7 Classes

    There is something for everyone in this Mosaic workshop. While working at your own pace, on the projects of your choice, beginners and experienced artists alike can explore mosaic craft and find inspiration from each other. The class is monitored by an instructor who directs newbies and supports the experienced. While most work with glass, experiments with ceramics and other creative materials is encouraged. Open yourself to the world of mosaics!
