Register early for all classes.(Then you won't be disappointed if your class is full or canceled.)Registration starts 5/6/25 @ 8am--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Creative Writing - 5 classes This course provides a collaborative environment for writers of all levels to cultivate their ideas, refine their skills, and express their creativity. Guests will engage in weekly in-class writing prompts followed by the presentation of their independent work, which may encompass various genres, including prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, memoir, and essay. A constructive and respectful critique process will be employed to offer insightful feedback and foster an encouraging atmosphere for literary development. NOTE: June 19, 2025 is a Holiday and no class session.
065387 Th 6/12-7/17 12:30-3pm Room 106 Reg $100/Seniors $90 Henderson --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Writing Your Story with Haiku and Qigong - 4 classes Haiku, a succinct three-line poetic form with origins in Japanese tradition, and Qigong, a venerable healing practice based in Chinese Medicine, facilitate an inner tranquility, enabling a deeper appreciation of the surrounding world's marvels. These disciplines refine one's perception and emotional response to life, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary. Instruction will be provided on the composition of haiku and the recognition of significant “haiku moments.” Guests will engage in introductory Qigong practices to enhance creative expression. Subsequently, through structured writing exercises, Guests will channel the inspiration derived from haiku and Qigong to articulate their personal narrative—specifically, their present experience and reaction to the ongoing evolution of their lives. Prior experience in Qigong or creative writing is not required.
