Reel-to-Real Talk is a Film Forum that uses acclaimed films to promote discussion about universal issues and timely topics. We explore how literary elements (character conflicts, irony, foreshadow, symbol, theme) and cinematic techniques (performance, directing, cinematography, editing, music) enhance the cinematic viewing experience. Post viewing discussions offer social commentary and promote exchanges of relevant theme ideas.

In the 2026 Winter Q3 Term, our critical evaluations will be based on examining literary elements like screenplays, symbols, irony, and foreshadow, plus exploring cinematic techniques such as musical scoring, acting performance, film editing, and cinematography skills.

• Rain Man (March 3, and 5, 2026); and,
• Shakespeare in Love (March 10, and 12, 2026).
