SPRING 2025Spanish ClassesRegistration starts 2/19 @ 8amLanguage classes start in Fall and continue through Spring. A complete year of Language is A, B & C. "A" is offered in Fall, "B" is offered in Winter, "C" is offered in Spring Spanish: First Year through Advanced classes emphasize communication by laying a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary. Classes also include conversation and culture. Textbooks may be required. SPRING --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beginning Spanish - 10 classes, No prerequisite. This course teaches conversational Spanish using immersion techniques. By the end of the session, Guests will be able to maintain a basic conversation in Spanish. The curriculum will focus on vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Games, songs, and visual aids will be used in every class to facilitate learning. Through these combined efforts, Guests will progressively advance their proficiency in Spanish and develop a deeper understanding of the language and its cultural context. Through in-class discussions and written assignments, Guests will analyze and interpret these texts, further developing their comprehension and critical thinking skills.The course will also feature a variety of interactive activities designed to reinforce the concepts covered in class. Building upon the foundational skills acquired in the previous course, Spanish 5C will guide Guests toward a more sophisticated level of communication. Throughout the course, Guests will engage in activities and discussions that encourage the use of intricate sentence structures and advanced vocabulary. The curriculum will also incorporate reading materials, such as stories and articles, that are appropriate for the Guests' proficiency level. These readings will serve as a springboard for further exploration of language and culture, and will facilitate the development of reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. By actively participating in class activities and discussions, Guests will enhance their ability to express themselves fluently and accurately in Spanish. They will also gain a deeper understanding of Hispanic cultures and perspectives, fostering a greater appreciation for diversity and global awareness. By the end of the course, Guests should be able to confidently engage in conversations on a wide range of topics, comprehend and analyze complex texts, and effectively communicate their ideas in written and spoken Spanish.
