Ms. Ganey

  • Hello Matadors!

My name is Nora Ganey and I am the Counselor for students with the last names R-Z. I am excited to join the Miramonte community, and am really looking forward to getting to know students and their families this year.

I grew up in Lamorinda and graduated from Boston College with a degree in History and Theology. After working in Higher Education for a number of years, I went on to receive my Masters in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential from Saint Mary's College of California.

As a counselor, I am here to support all students throughout their time in high school by providing:

    • Academic counseling and help with course selection and planning
    • Social/emotional and mental health support
    • A space for students to talk about their goals for the future and explore post-secondary options

I meet with all students individually at least once every school year for a grade level meeting. These meetings take place as follows:

    • Early Fall - Seniors
    • Late Fall - Ninth Graders
    • Winter - Juniors
    • Spring - Sophomores

Students can drop by to get quick questions answered before school, during brunch or lunch, or after school. They can also email me to make an appointment for more involved questions, or to schedule a meeting with me during Academy. Parents can email me with questions, concerns, or appointment requests.

Fun Facts: I have a Leap Day birthday, I've been to 49 out of the 50 states, and enjoy a rousing game of Jeopardy!
