Through immersion techniques, Guests will learn past tenses, commands, and the subjunctive mood. As in the beginning class, emphasis will be placed on Spanish voice and diction to further develop conversational and reading abilities. The review aims to solidify Guests' understanding of the conjugation, usage, and nuances of both tenses, ensuring a strong foundation for more complex grammatical structures. Following this tense review, the curriculum will delve into several key grammatical topics essential for building fluency and accuracy in Spanish. These topics will include a detailed examination of the distinctions and appropriate usage of the prepositions Por and Para, often a source of confusion for learners. Furthermore, Guests will gain a thorough understanding of demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, enabling them to effectively indicate and identify nouns. The course will also cover the formation and application of comparative adjectives and adverbs, allowing Guests to express comparisons in a grammatically correct manner. Finally, a selection of other relevant grammatical concepts will be introduced and explored, further enriching the Guests' grammatical toolkit and enhancing their ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.

WL602.1 TH 8/14 - 10/2 10am - 12pm Rm 114 Reg $160/Seniors $144 Ruiz ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spanish 3A (8 Class Sessions) This quarter of Spanish will offer Guests a thorough review and significant expansion upon their existing understanding of both simple and compound verb tenses. We will move beyond basic recognition and usage to explore the nuances and specific contexts in which each tense is most appropriately applied. Through a variety of exercises and activities, Guests will solidify their grasp of the present, past (preterite and imperfect), future, conditional, and perfect tenses.
In conjunction with this in-depth exploration of verb tenses, the course will also cover several crucial grammatical concepts. Guests will learn to confidently identify and correctly utilize direct and indirect objects, understanding their function within sentence structure and mastering their corresponding pronouns. Furthermore, we will dedicate significant time to the often-confused prepositions por and para, clarifying their distinct meanings and applications through practical examples and exercises. Beyond these core topics, we will address other relevant grammatical elements as needed to enhance Guests' overall fluency and accuracy in Spanish. The goal is to provide a comprehensive and practical understanding of these fundamental grammatical building blocks.

Furthermore, the curriculum will incorporate supplementary grammatical topics as necessary to ensure complete comprehension of the course material. Among these additional areas of study will be the intricacies of reflexive verbs, which will be examined across all relevant tenses within the indicative mood.
