Naviance Overview
-
Naviance Student is a web-based tool designed primarily for students to help make decisions about colleges and careers. Students will use Naviance Student to research college and career options. It also provides up-to-date information that is specific to our school. This program allows us to share information with parents and students about upcoming college visits, scholarships, and other web resources for college and career information. Parents at Miramonte have access to their child’s account through a separate login and can utilize many of the resources available.

Within Naviance, students will find access to the following:
Colleges: College research tools, specific college data for all colleges/universities, and scattergrams with MHS data points can be found under this tab. Student GPAs and ACT/SAT scores are populated in their Naviance Student account by the school district office. Test scores can also be added manually by the student on the "my stuff" page. These data points allow students to easily track their GPA and standardized test scores in relation to college data presented (please note: colleges do not see this information).
Scholarship information can also be found on this tab for both local and national scholarships offered, many by Lamorinda or Bay Area organizations offering MHS students the opportunity to apply and be awarded scholarship money for college.
Careers: Students can access a variety of career exploration tools, including interest surveys and Occupational Handbook resources for career description/guidance, as well as Roadtrip Nation, which features over 3,500 video interviews for industry leaders.
About Me: Students can access other career and personal exploration tools in addition to finding a RESUME builder. We encourage students to begin using the resume builder as early as sophomore year. This is a feature that allows them to keep track of awards, recognition, employment, extracurricular activities for their time here at MHS. Many students will need to create an 'activities resume' when applying to college and this tool is helpful in gathering information along the way.
Seniors will see additional information that includes tabs for requesting teacher letters of recommendation and transcripts. Additionally, they can access the student brag sheet for counselor letters of recommendation and complete the Graduation Survey in May of senior year.
PARENTS: You have your own login credentials (and your student has his/hers). If you need help logging in, please email Stephanie Brady with your student's name and I will reset your access. If you have more than one student at MHS, you should be able to view each student's portal from your same login. Please let us know the names/grades of all of your MHS students when you contact us so that we can ensure you will have access to view each account.
